Week 2 Pooch to 5k: Oh the Knee’s!

January 10, 2013 - 4 Responses

Holy junk! Ok so today is was my day two of week two of the pooch to 5k. Boy oh boy so my knee’s hate me right now. It’s obviously been quite sometime since I last jogged and I also was probably a little bit smaller. So I’m guessing its my weight putting a bunch of pressure on my knee joints. I’m suppose to jog 90 seconds and walk 2 minuets 6 times. Well. I only got to 1 1/2 times lol. It hurt. So, coming back home I looked up ways to help get rid of my pain and heal the knee’s. That’s when I found the R.I.C.E method. Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. That is what I am doing until I feel I can get back to jogging without hurting myself again. So during my break I will continue my yoga, do more knee and leg exercises, and going on the inversion table.

Also, on other pages I saw that you should have some Ibuprofen. I don’t use ibuprofen any more so my mom found a natural pain relief. Tumeric and water!

  • 1-2 tsp. of Turmeric Powder or

  • 1 Oz Juiced Turmeric Root

  • 1 cup coconut water OR

  • Mix into fresh vegetable juice made in your juicer (celery, cucumber, ginger & lemon is a great anti-inflammatory juice to mix your turmeric into)

It’s not so tasty but it gets the job done!

Everyone enjoy your day! And if you are doing the Pooch to 5k with me don’t stop keep going I’ll catch up with you guys 🙂

Holy Moly: Week 2 Pooch to 5k

January 8, 2013 - Leave a Response

Well, I didn’t do so bad the first week! I didn’t do the whole 7 days of jogging but I did 4 days!I still did my yoga, jumping and inversion table all week. My body is very happy and so is my dog. I didn’t have much problems with my body feeling discomfort, but my knee’s are a little soar. This hasn’t happened to me before but hey its also been about 5 years since I us to jog regularly.

This week is going to be a little different. Jogging 90 seconds the walking 2 minuets. Today it wasn’t that bad actually. I just got to remember next time to bring water. Silly me.

Week 2

THE NEW BBV Challenge Is here!!!.

2013

January 1, 2013 - 5 Responses

Oh, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Again another beautiful day here in Florida. Went for a wonderful jog, it couldn’t have been any prettier really. Had my music blastin’, dog by my side, the breeze was just perfect and the heat was at a perfect temp. Like, jeeze I gotta say it is just a perfect day to start off the New Year.  This year is going to be the best year ever. No if’s and but’s I will be checking off all of my list before 2014.

.::My List::.

  1. Shed the fat suit. This will be so easy! Other years I just didn’t give it my all, this year on the other hand it will be off. I will enhance my endurance. By the end of the year I want to be jogging 6-10 miles a day, be 120 lbs, build my muscle mass, and take some sort of martial art.
  2. Getting in touch with my creative side. I want to get into some sort of art class. Learn how to draw better, take more photos, and crochet. May hap a little creative writing. that brings me to:
  3. Learn more. I want to get into school and get my brain to work. Take classes I’m only interested in taking, and read more books.
  4. Enhance my homesteading skills. I want to make half of my yard all veggies! Learn how to collect water for the plants, etc. By the end of the year I want to have all of the fruits and veggies we eat come out of our back yard. I’m also dying to have chickens again boy oh boy do I miss them! With learning more homesteading skills I would like to learn survival skills.
  5. Getting in touch with my inner self. I want to do more meditation. Release all of my fear and sadness and become at peace with every obstacle I run into.  Let everything go. When I feel I need to say something, say it and not hold it in. Be more free.
  6. Be more sociable. Get out there and meet more people. Break outta my shell a little bit go out more often. Example; beaches, hikes etc.

I believe that is it so far! Today I am starting a 30 Day Art challenge with a fellow Facebook friend! Like I said before this year is going to be the best!

Everyone have a Happy New Year! Make this a year to remember.

Whoa!: Week 1 Pooch to 5k

December 30, 2012 - 6 Responses

Hello there! Well, as you know I haven’t posted since, hmm lets see… JULY! Holy moly. Well, first thing is first.  Stella has been born! She’s now four months. Yeah its been a long time!

So, now since she’s four months I think its about that time to start my Pooch to 5k. I coulda started some time ago but I’m starting now.  I’ve been doing a jog/walk thing for two day’sish but today is my official start of the first week. This has been my routine: wake up, feed baby, put her back to sleep, jump on the mini trampoline for 5 minuets, go on the inversion table for 5 minuets, do some yoga for 10 minuets, then take my dog out and go jogging. Golly I love it! I have missed jogging so much! I had a dream about 4 nights ago just jogging everywhere and it felt so good. So, I put my foot down and said  ” That’s it! Time to start jogging.”

1st week

1st week

I will be doing this for everyday of the week not 3 days like this says. My “mentality laziness”  would just be very happy with taking 4 days off as a ” oh just don’t do this any more.” So 7 days it is! I have been also taking a Pro energy drink during my “in the house” work outs. Then as soon as getting back from jogging I have my shake. This morning I had a Cherry Banana Shake. Very, Very yummy! Wanna join me in my Pooch to 5k  weight loss journey? Click those words and get started. 🙂 Oh by the way you don’t have to have a dog to start the Pooch to 5k so that excuse is outta your way. 2013 bring it.

Not only is my reason to just to lose weight, be healthy and get my doggie happier. I’m also getting ready for this summer at a little convention I go to. I am so ready to be at my best  and look my best. My sexy little self is ready to shed off this fat suit.

And this is my baby girl!Stella<3

Holy moly’s. Long time since I’ve written a post! So I woke up this morning, way too early, saying to myself “I shall write a blog today.” First things first, tis’ very very beautiful outside today. The breeze is just perfect, its not too bright and sunny, and now I’m listening to some old school music like, Duran Duran, The Police, and Phil Collins. Definitely a good way to start the day. Well, since this is my “Workout” blog. Lets say… I have been terribly lazy. I have been drinking lots of water and having shakes, but my diet hasn’t been the best but I don’t regret that ha ha. Exciting news though! Before my pregnancy I lost 22lbs leaving me at 198,something like that, and now being 8.5 months I am now weighing at 220. Woot woot! This is way exciting for me mainly I have only gained baby weight! Thanks to the ViSalus I have been able to gain at a healthy rate.

Much love,

So Slow.

June 28, 2012 - Leave a Response

After this crazy week of Tropical storm Debby I have been lazy and getting more tired from this lil’ one Stella. I did have a lot of fun during the storm. Literally had water front property for bout half a day. The street right next to us was filled up so much that we did’t even get to the deep end of it. Yes, we went into the water with who know’s what was in that, maybe alligators, but we had a blast. Dogs got to go swimming once everyone saw our dogs they got theirs out. It was like a little neighborhood block party.

A video my mom took!

Other then the storm I have been bad and haven’t done my walking since then. It is now beautiful outside and I will go for my walk today Addisson will be pretty excited about it :).

Oh Rain.

June 24, 2012 - 2 Responses

Rain rain rain. It has been like this all week! I’m loving the rain for bringing in nice cool breeze at night. But boy all the gloomyness is makin’ me a wee bit tired. I  have been keeping up with my yoga though! Walking, eh not so much I only did a half walk yesterday but it did feel really nice. Today, I’m hoping it slows down on the rain so I can go for my walk.  Hm, I would love to have a rain jacket! For me and my dog! How cute would that be. Then I could say Ha Ha to the rain and go 🙂 Oh another thing I’m really lovin’ about the rain is that my garden is SO freaking happy. Its all lushes and green, some flowers are starting to pop up. Ugh, I love it.

The front yard !

This would be a great lil’ jacket for my dog!

Everyone have a fantastic day!

The Weekend Adventure, Into a New Challenge.

June 19, 2012 - 2 Responses

This weekend I was away in Tampa. My oh my was it beautiful there! I went to MetroCon. Its an event where you get dressed up in crazy outfits meet a bunch of people and have a lil’ fun.  I did not do any exercise intentionally but I sure as hell did a lot of walking. From the hotel, to the convention center, up and down stairs, around the convention center. I did this from Friday to Sunday ALL day. So I don’t know how many miles that would have been or what. But boy was I exhausted. I just got back home yesterday morning. I didn’t really do anything yesterday but just relax. I was still pooped out from the fun running around all weekend. Since, I had a ”day off” I woke up this morning feeling fresh and relaxed. First thing I did was have water and did 30 minuets of yoga! Now I am writing this blog drinking  more water then off to go for a walk with my dog. Today is going to be very productive.

My friend and I over the weekend!

Since my new challenge is ready to start I am going to do something new. My mom got inspired and thought of a way to make this Challenge more different for the body and mind. We are going to incorporate total self awareness into this challenge.

Awesome Quote 🙂

  1. I am going to write everything down that I do through out the day. Including my exercises, food intake, time spent on internet/video games, pretty much my time spent doing anything at all times. It will be written down.
  2. I will also write down the emotions I have during the day to each action.
  3. I will take note of EVERYTHING that makes me happy!
  4. I will list the 5 best things that happened to me during the day.

I am very excited to get started! This is going to be such an awesome adventure!

Make sure you go to take a look at my Mom’s blog and read about her challenge!
